Special Notes: ⢠Yes, if you make your layout one flat, static image it does limit you since you can't adjust the page to be longer or shorter to fit the amount of content you have. Try not to worry about this too much - you're a creative person and you'll be able to find creative solutions. When you're brainstorming ideas for your design try to keep in mind how you can maximize space for content. ⢠It is possible to give specific pages their own special background. In the top menu select Page > Set Background > (select the file you wish to use). HOWEVER, you must keep in mind that this page will have to be the same dimensions as the rest of your site or the design for that page will be squished or stretched. ⢠Not everyone has an awesome monitor. Always assume that the majority of people are still using a resolution of 1024 x 768, and design accordingly. <---- Click on this. Examples If you're used to building websites in the traditional html+css way you may be inclined to come up with a design and then slice everything up. That sort of approach doesn't really work with this system (it can be done, but it will only serve to complicate things and eat up your time). The quickest way to go about preparing a layout for use within the SiteBuildingSystem is to make your design one flat image. Basically, you'll take that image and use it as the site's background (Top Menu: Site > Set Site Background). When that's all set, the rest of your site building experience should be fairly easy (depending on the specifics, of course) since you'll just be adding text and images. As you become more familiar with the site editor and how everything works you can deviate away from this way of doing things, but if you're new to it, just stick with the "single piece" method. <---- Click on this. ![]() |
