Special Notes: ⢠If you're lucky you'll have some pages with a similar amount of content, so you can reuse a page bg from another page. ⢠Labeling or numbering your page BGs will help you keep everything in order. ⢠Make sure you don't change ANYTHING in your layout other than the content area. If you change anything else it will appear to jump or shift when you change pages. ⢠You may wish to keep multiple copies of your photoshop file at various stages in the process, just in case you have to go back and fix something. Ok, so I lied about having to make your layout all one length, at least partially. You can make individual pages on your site appear to have different lengths to suit the amount of content. This process can be tedious and time consuming, but it can really make a site look great. This is how you can do it: 1. Look over the Design Request Form (DRF), and find the section or page that has the most content to display. 2. Work out the basics of your layout and be sure that the content area is something that you can easily and seemlessly duplicate in order to adjust its length. 3. Add the content from the DRF to your layout in Photoshop and get it formatted roughly how you think it should be in the final version. Now you know how long the site dimensions need to be. For the rest of the pages you simply need to adjust the content area's length and save each background individually. (example: all pages will be 1300 pixels long, but the content area for each one will be different.) Now you can put those individual BGs to work: 4. Set the site background as you normally would: Top Menu: Site > Set Site Background (Use whatever the home page will be) 5. Now set the BG for the other pages. Top Menu: Page > Set Background > (choose appropriate bg for that page) Example ![]() ![]() Both pages are 1300px long, but their content areas differ. ![]() ___________________________________________ ![]() |
