Hopefully you've already designed the layout for your website in Photoshop.

If not, you may want to do that before continuing.

1. Log into your account.

2. Click the "New Site" button.

3. Give the site an appropriate name, usually the name of the business will do.

4. Select a template. You should choose "blank" since you'll be using your own designs. If "blank" isn't available choose whatever else, something simple, you'll be working over it anyway.

5. Once you're in the editing platform use the menu at the top and select: "Site" > "Properties." Set the dimensions (width and height) for your site.

***Keep in mind that the average user doesn't have the awesome high resolution monitor you have. Always assume the end user's resolution is 1024x768.***

While you have this window open you can add the site description and keywords, but you can save that for later if you prefer.

6. In the site menu select: "Files > Upload Files" and then upload the background layout you've created for your site.

7. In the site menu select: "Site > Set Site Background" and choose the appropriate file, then hit "OK."

Now if you like you can start pluggin in the site's content. Usually throwing down all the text is the easiest place to start.

This is also a good time to set up a host, so that you can show the client their site when you've finished building it.
