Using decorations you can add some special effects to text and images. This includes Drop Shadow, Bevel, Blur, Glow, Border, and links for images. Of course most of these can be done in Photoshop ahead of time, but if you choose to use these functions in the editor you can make changes on the fly without having to to go back and create new files.

The process is relatively simple:

1. Select the page object you wish to add a filter to.

2. At the Top menu click on "Decorations" > (choose the Filter you want).

3. Click on the box that says "Add this Filter."

4. Adjust the settings to your liking and click "OK."

To Remove a Filter:

1. Select the object.

2. Open up the Filter menu and uncheck the box that says "Add this Filter."

Text with Bevel

Special Notes:

• You can add more than one filter to an object. In the SCDA logo above I've added a Border (white), a Drop Shadow, and a link to the SCDA website.

• If you're going to be using the same filters on several items, like a series of text boxes, you can save some time by adding the filter to just one box and then copy + pasting it to other locations. When you edit the text boxes for their individual content they'll retain the filter from the first box.

• Don't go crazy with the filters. If you overdo it you'll end up with something that looks tacky/gaudy.
